I genuinely hope robotaxis and self-driving technology become a reality, as their potential to transform transportation by saving lives and reducing costs is undeniable.

Having lived and driven in major cities across the US and Europe, I’ve seen firsthand how the rise in accidents—often caused by distracted driving, especially texting—exposes the limitations of human drivers. In Las Vegas, where driving has been rated among the worst in the country, accidents are especially frequent, and the sheer number of accident lawyers here is a telling indicator of the problem.

The thing is, self-driving technology doesn’t need to be flawless—it just needs to outperform distracted, human-driven cars, and the bar for improvement is getting lower with each passing year. If Tesla can execute their robotaxi vision and navigate the inevitable legal challenges without unnecessary roadblocks, the potential for massive societal and financial benefits is immense.
